Shramdaan is the precious sparing of one’s time and effort for those in need.
As a part of our Sanskara syllabus, The Indian School perseveres to ingrain the values of compassion and selflessness in our students.
Children regularly volunteer to hand craft items like Holi colours, potted plants, various art works, soaps, aroma/floating/decorative candles etc., the proceeds of which are given in charity.
It is such a humbling experience when we see how the Shramdaan of our children helped in sponsoring wheelchairs for the elderly and free surgeries for orphan children.
The conviction and zest with which our children contribute has also enabled us to adopt the Defence Colony Market for a cleanliness drive, besides empowering underprivileged young women with the skill of candle making. One of our major efforts this year has been ‘Spot Fixing’, which is an active campaign to restore vandalised public spaces in South Delhi.
We sincerely depend on your generous support to continue to reach out and touch the lives of many who depend on us and also the community at large.
